eric heard | Mariners Church
Eric Heard is a seasoned pastor at Mariners Church in Irvine, California, known for his impactful Men’s Ministry and leadership in small groups and spiritual growth.
Eric Heard earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian education from Biola University and a Master of Divinity from Talbot Seminary. He has over 30 years of experience in youth and family ministry, having served in multiple churches throughout Southern California, including 23 years as a Junior High and High School Pastor at Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton and 6 years as a Family Ministries Pastor at Mariners Church and at Hartland Christian Camp.
At Mariners Church, Eric Heard currently serves as Men’s Ministry Pastor, overseeing small groups, spiritual growth, and men’s gatherings Harland Christian Camp. He leads The Point, a weekly men’s group meeting every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m., available both in-person and online, where men discuss weekend sermons and engage in fellowship Mariners Church. He also engages in Mentorship, leadership talks, and podcasts aimed at inspiring men and young leaders.
Eric Heard is known for his engaging, relatable, and often humorous storytelling, helping individuals connect real-life experiences with spiritual growth at Hartland Christian Camp. His work emphasizes encouraging men to follow Christ wholeheartedly and build community through meaningful discussions and small group participation.
He has been featured on podcasts such as The True North Movement, where he shares his personal journey overcoming childhood trauma and addiction, as well as insights from his decades of ministry. These platforms allow him to connect with a broader audience and provide guidance on resilience, faith, and leadership.
Eric Heard is based in Newport Beach, California, affiliated with Mariners Church, which serves as a community hub for worship, spiritual growth, and men’s development programs. MEN'S BREAKFAST
Every man wrestles with questions of identity, purpose, and meaning. Join the men of Mariners for a powerful morning of breakfast, worship, and conversation with special guest coach John Mosley from the Netflix series Last Chance U: Basketball. Coach Mosley will share insights on faith, leadership, family, and living with purpose—on and off the court. This event is for every man: sports fans, fathers and sons, married or single, young adults, and high school students. Bring your son, friends, life group—or come on your own. Don’t miss it.

MAN CAMP 2026
Our annual overnight adventures are a legendary part of the Men’s Ministry. Men of Mariners get away to hear God’s voice, grow in community and have a ton of fun! In the quiet of the mountains, we slow down, worship, open Scripture, and listen. Throughout the Bible, men encountered God when they withdrew from the noise. This is time to realign. Time to hear what He may be saying to you. Come expectant. Check out this video for what to expect!!

MEXICO HOME BUILD
Over the course of the weekend, we’ll come alongside local families and help build 2–3 homes—providing not just shelter, but dignity, stability, and hope. It’s a tangible, hands-on way to make a real impact in a very short amount of time.
Trip details:
- Dates: June 4–7, 2026 (Thursday–Sunday)
- Cost: $380 per person ($50 for children 10 and under)
- Includes: Lodging, meals, and all build materials
- No construction experience needed
